Antique French Diamond Gold Platinum Necklace
Antique French diamond 18ct gold and platinum necklace; this dates from the 1920s and is formed of a circle of rose cut diamonds with millegrain edging surrounding a transitional cut diamond solitaire weighing 0.18ct. This, in turn, is suspended from a knife blade, set with three rose cut diamonds in a millegrain setting. The pendant section is suspended from rose cut diamond swags in a millegrain setting and fixed to a fine platinum trace chain. The pendant is in 18ct yellow and white gold and carries the French state control marks for 18ct gold (Eagle’s heads). Weight 5.5gms; length 5cms x width at the top, 2.5cms; length of chain 52cms. The chain is stamped with the French control mark for platinum, (Dog’s head). This fine pendant would have been worn by a bride on her wedding day. It is in excellent vintage condition.
