Art Deco Ruby and Diamond Ring
Asymmetrical late Art Deco ring in the Odéonesque style in 18ct gold. This type of ring was very popular in France in the 1940s and our ring is an excellent example of the style. It is set with 8-cut diamonds totalling 0.30ct and synthetic square cut rubies (untested) weighing 0.72ct. During WW2, due to the shortage of natural rubies, it was customary to use synthetic rubies which further guarantee the era of this type of ring. Weight 13.5gms; depth 1.40cm x width 2.2cms. Stamped with the French Owl mark guaranteeing the gold to be 18ct. The ring has been professionally repolished and is in excellent condition. Finger size M (UK), 6.5 (US), 53 (French), 13 (Italian) which we can re-size for you if required. C.1940.
