Edwardian Diamond Negligé Pendant
French 1920s diamond negligé pendant in 18ct gold; this style of pendant was traditionally a wedding pendant, with the two suspended diamonds, on a diamond set knife blade, representing the bride and groom and linked by the diamond band above them, known as an “alliance” in French and worn as a wedding ring. The pendant is fixed to an 18ct white gold chain. The old European cut diamonds measure 0.60ct and 0.50ct, and the diamond band is set with pretty rose cut diamonds.
The French hallmarks are for 18ct (Eagle) and platinum (Medecin Grec). Width 1.6cm x overall pendant length 3cms, overall length including the chain 56cms. This beautiful pendant is in excellent condition and would be a wonderful piece of jewellery for the modern bride.
