Edwardian Amethyst Enamel Pearl 15ct Gold Pendant


Edwardian amethyst, pearl and enamel pendant in 15ct gold;  this is an exquisite piece of jewellery of fine craftsmanship, set with 8 amethysts, of which 3 are suspended from tiny pale pink enamel and pearl flowers.  Above them sit 3 more amethysts,  one of which is set in a green and pink enamel floral motif, the other two each sitting over a white spotted enamel crescent.  The pendant is attached to a 15ct gold chain, Stamped and tested as 15ct and fitted with a pretty tongue and box decorated clasp.  Weight: 11.60gm.  This beautiful necklace dates from the Edwardian era at the beginning of the 20th century and is in the colours that were made so popular at the time, being the favourite colours of Queen Alexandra, wife of Edward VII.    Length of chain: 48cm  (19″); measurements of the pendant: 6cm x 3cm (2 1/2″ x  1 1/4′ )  It is in very good vintage condition.  Ref: V1235
