Rococo Style Opal Gold Bracelet


Rococo style bracelet set with opal doublets in 9ct gold;  this is a dramatic bracelet created in the mid 20th century in the Rococo style of the 18th century using the classic features of flowing curving shapes, floral design and free flowing exuberance.  It is formed of three bezel set opal doublets full of fiery colours with lots of red flashes emanating from the stones.   Each is in the centre of a hinged panel and linked to a further two panels on either side.  Each panel is highly decorated in a floral design using four different colours of gold – yellow, rose, green and white with no attention left to detail.  The Rococo style used awe inspiring ornamentation which positively shines through in this bracelet with striking features.  It closes with a tongue and box clasp formed out of one of the panels.  Weight: 18.40gm.  Stamped 9ct and tested as 9ct gold.  Length: 16cm (6 1/2″); measurements: 2.50cm at the widest point, 1cm at the narrowest point, (1 1/8″ / 3/8″).   This gorgeous bracelet evokes past centuries and is a delight to wear, fitting snugly and sitting low on the wrist.  it is in very good vintage condition and dates from the 1950s.  Ref: V1245
