£0.00

Antique Victorian Cavalier King Charles Spaniel micro mosaic brooch;  this was a very popular style of brooch with the Victorians and very fashionable during the mid 19th century.  A fashion which started with Queen Victoria who had a cavalier King Charles spaniel which began a trend of micro mosaic/pietra dura brooches.  Dogs and flowers were the most popular subjects.  The workmanship is of fine quality and the mosaic is set into black glass.  There are a few nibbles around the glass in keeping with the age of this piece.  The brooch is mounted on a 9ct gold frame which is stamped 9c and tested as 9ct gold.  To the reverse there is a pin and hook closure as well as small ring to attach a safety chain.  Weight: 6.20gm.  Measurements: 2.5cm x 2cm (1  1/8″ x 7/8″).  C.1850.  Good vintage condition.  Ref: H066-23
